MARLAFIJI USES LEATHERS THAT HAVE BEEN THOROUGHLY SELECTED AND ARE OUTSTANDINGLY NATURAL.
TIPS FOR MAINTAINING/PRESERVING AND CARING FOR LEATHER ITEMS:

  • Humidity can cause mould. Store leather items in a cool, dry place and keep them in its dust bag; stuff your bag with paper so it will not lose its shape, leaving the shoulder strap outside.

  • Humidity can cause stains on leather items. If a leather item gets wet, gently pat the surface dry with a soft cloth and leave it to dry out completely in a ventilated place.

  • Leather items should not be cleaned with water, solvents or products containing solvents or water. Water and perspiration could cause staining: dry items off as fast as you can, possibly with hot air (a normal hair dryer) holding the hairdryer 30 cm away from the item.

  • Do not leave the item in direct contact with other leather items or plastic and/or nylon bags as they could spoil it.

  • Particular weather conditions could cause leathers that have a greasy feel on their surface to release oily substances; any such residue is easily removed with a warm, dry cloth.

  • Avoid leaving leather items in bright light for long periods of time to prevent discolouring; non-treated leather naturally tends to darken in time.

  • Leathers that feel silky and soft have no surface finish whatsoever and may be damaged if they come into contact with materials that stain when wet; this is because the leather is completely natural.

  • Do not hold light colour leather bags on denim or fabric that lose their colour.

  • Leather has not been waterproof.

TIPS FOR MAINTAINING AND CARING FOR NYLON OR FABRIC BAGS:

  • Avoid placing your bag near direct heat or wearing it in very hot weather.

  • Do not clean it with solvents or cleaning products containing solvents.

  • Never clean items made of fabric and leather by immerging them in water, as the leather parts and the internal stiffening are not waterproof: clean such parts with a damp sponge and neutral soap.

  • Fabric bags could stain clothing. Leather accessories could also stain.

  • Store leather items in a cool, dry place and keep them in their dust bag, stuff your bag with.
